QUIKSVILER PRO SHOW MUSIC FESTIVAL

Attention lovers of surfing & music, prepare yourself for a groundswell of good times and all day party festivities as we proudly confirm the return of the Quiksilver Pro Show for March 2008.

Debuting in 2007 as the must-attend party alongside the Quiksilver Pro – the first contest on surfing’s ASP Mens World Tour - the inaugural festival saw bands like The Beautiful Girls, The Herd and The Winnie Coopers dominate the line-up in front of a sell out crowd of 2500 sun-drenched fans.

Now in its second year, the Quiksilver Pro Show is paddling into a musical feast of roots, rock, electro and hip hop - right on the sand at Duranbah Beach, one of the Australia's most consistent surf breaks.

Appearing as headliners after their biggest and most successful year yet is the three piece synth-electro outfit the MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS. Often referred to as the Down Under answer to Daft Punk, Midnight Juggernauts released their full length debut ‘Dystopia’ in August 2007 to worldwide acclaim and will be delivering a prog-rock inspired set of luscious grooves and sci-fi imagery. Sonic interstellar space travel has never been so easy!!

On the eve of releasing his new album ‘Corner Of An Endless Road’, Sydney’s LIOR will be joining us for a day in the sun, bringing with him his rich voice and lush musical arrangements. His stunning debut set in 2005, ‘Autumn Flow’, earned him three ARIA nominations and his acclaimed live show has seen him travel the world with the WOMAD festival. Lior will be making his first appearance at the Quiksilver Pro Show and this will be his only scheduled Gold Coast date on his 2008 national album tour.

A crowd favourite at the 2007 event, ASH GRUNWALD returns to the Quiksilver Pro Show performing his own foot-stomping brand of hypnotic blues and roots. Ash is an exciting and innovative performer, and will be showcasing new tracks as well as dishing out the favourites from his current album 'Give Signs', plus hopefully waxing up the board and getting wet once his set finishes.

Other confirmed acts include NZ reggae/dub/funk act THE BLACK SEEDS, North coast roots/rock collective BAND OF FREQUENCIES, the Gold’s Coast’s amazing DJ Duo, the SURE CUT KIDS, and the man on the decks for The Winnie Coopers, DJ BIG BAD.

And yet there are still many more fantastic bands and Dj's to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Quiksilver Pro Show is also offering a strictly limited number of discounted price ‘Locals Tickets’ as a reward for punters who choose to get in early and guarantee their place at one of the biggest beach parties ever seen on the Gold Coast.

The Quiksilver Pro Show runs from 2pm - 10pm ADST (1pm-9pm Qld time) on Saturday 1st March 2008, and will also host appearances by several Top 44 surfers from the Quiksilver Pro, surf films on the big screen, food stalls, markets and a fully licenced bar.
