QUIKSILVER PRO SHOW RETURNS IN MARCH 2009 As summer rolls on and thoughts turn to the beach and colourful cricketers, the Quiksilver Pro presented by LG has been hard at work on the Quiksilver Pro Show and is proud to announce the acts taking the stage at this years event.

Now in its third year, the Quiksilver Pro Show continues to make its way as Australia’s leading music festival that’s rooted in surf culture. The 2009 event is being held Saturday March 7th at Duranbah Beach on the sunny Gold Coast and features a taste making line-up of hip hop, roots, rock & electro beats

Headlining the event are BLISS N ESO one of Australia's most coveted hip hop acts. Their most recent album ‘Flying Colours’ is a testament to a decade of producing the most unique and undefinable sounds in the country . Add an exceptional reputation for their live performances which sees them combining impromptu freestyling, beat boxing and cutting edge turntablism, BLISS N ESO will be one act you don’t want to miss.

Back for his 3rd appearance at the Quiksilver Pro Show , ASH GRUNWALD ‘s unique, heartfelt stormer of a live show is full of passionate beats and infectious rhythms is sure to unleash some impromptu funky moves from the crowd. The man with charisma and a constant smile brings his melting pot of soulful blues accompanied by his guitar and gospel-style vocals. With an Album Of The Year from the Australian Blues Awards under his belt, a guitar under one arm, and a surfboard securely in the other, Ash is eager to return to the Gold Coast.

Hitting the Gold Coast New Zealand’s self described “heavy-metal-dub-funk-blues” outfit KORA return to Australian shores in March. Having shared the stage with acts such as Spearhead, Cog and Salmonella Dub and with a performances from at Festivals from The Big Day Out to WOMAD, KORA will be immersing audiences in their heady blend of sonic diversity.

Last seen at the Quiksilver Pro Show in 2007 with his Beautiful Girls bandmates dishing out a duet with Kelly Slater, MAT MCHUGH returns with his new solo project and a new album. A frequent visitor to Gold Coast surf spots, Mat has recently released his debut solo album, ‘Seperatista’. a free-floating animal of rare sensitivity and grace, recorded with a band largely seconded from the Sydney jazz scene.

Also waxing up and hitting the stage are Melbourne’s DUKE OF WINDSOR – who created a monster hit in the catchy single ‘It’s a War’ during 2008, festival favourites SOMETHING WITH NUMBERS, psychedelic reggae – rockers ROGERTHAT, Brisbane based creators of sixties-flavoured pop JOHN STEELSINGERS and local hip hop heavyweights WINNIE COOPERS.

As a Thank You to local fans who have supported the event since 2007, a limited release of cheaper ‘Locals’ tickets will be made available at the following outlets in the region:
