Midnight Juggernauts - Appearing as headliners after their biggest and most successful year yet is the three piece synth-electro outfit the Midnight Juggernauts Often referred to as the Down Under answer to Daft Punk, Midnight Juggernauts released their full length debut ‘Dystopia’ in August 2007 to worldwide acclaim and will be delivering a prog-rock inspired set of luscious grooves and sci-fi imagery. Sonic interstellar space travel has never been so easy!!
Lior - On the eve of releasing his new album ‘Corner Of An Endless Road’, Sydney’s Lior will be joining us for a day in the sun, bringing with him his rich voice and lush musical arrangements. His stunning debut set in 2005, ‘Autumn Flow’ earned him three ARIA nominations and his acclaimed live show has seen him travel the world with the WOMAD festival.
Lior will be making his first appearance at the Quiksilver Pro Show and this will be his only scheduled Gold Coast date on his 2008 national album tour.
Ash Grunwald - A crowd favourite at the 2007 event, Ash Grunwald returns to the Quiksilver Pro Show performing his own foot-stomping brand of hypnotic blues and roots.Ash is an exciting and innovative performer, and will be showcasing new tracks as well as dishing out the favourites from his current album 'Give Signs', plus hopefully waxing up the board and getting wet once his set finishes.
The Black Seeds - With gold and double-platinum selling albums in New Zealand and several years of successful touring, Wellington-based 8-piece The Black Seeds have been winning over fans with their unique blend of reggae, dub, funk and soul since forming in 1997. Carving out their reputation on the strength of their critically acclaimed studio albums and legendary live performances, the band now have large following Aotearoa and Australia, as well as a fast growing fan bases throughout Europe and the U.S. The Black Seeds deliver a hip gyrating dub-infused surfside soundscape.

Urthboy – Dropping into this years Pro Show lineup is the uber talented Urthboy. With a background in lyrics & graffiti writing Urthboy delivers an adventurous, forward thinking show that is deeply rooted in hip hop culture. URTHBOY got us all in a sweat over his excellent 2007 release The Signal. Featuring the infectious hit We Get Around, the album showcases URTHBOY’S awesome MC skills and some quality songwriting to boot.
Urthboy is a former member of Hermitude and co-frontman of one of Australia’s foremost hip-hop crews, The Herd.. Be ready to getdown!
Dallas Frasca And Her Gentleman – Dubbed the modern day Janis Joplin, Dallas Frasca is an alternate roots powerhouse. Her mighty soul-voice has been resonating and reaching people across Australia through radio, stereo and touring. Dallas Frasca has an undeniable stage presence. Her powerful and commanding vocal style is one of a kind; raw, gritty and unrestrained, this woman is a force to be reckoned with. Joined by the upside down, left handed, back to front, slide dobro and mandolin extraordinaire, Jeff Curran makes the two piece without kit a wall of guitars and stomp box that delve into raw, double duelling slides, launching from a rock solid ground of roots influences. One thump on that stomp box demands attention from any audience and is a sure-fire way to get the crowd worked up... Dallas Frasca and Her Gentlemen are a live experience you don’t want to miss!
Cool Calm Collective – The Cool Calm Collective is essentially the "reggae brainchild" of seven like-minded musicians from the Gold Coast, with their roots firmly embedded in a groove-heavy dub/reggae sound. The Cool Calm are quickly spreading their infectious 'riddums' and soulful melodies to the Australian masses.
Sure Cut Kids – Surecut Kids are a two-piece dj act from the Gold Coast, Queensland. Using four turntables and an mpc, they play a variety of different genres within each set – a technique which enables them to turn crowds upside-down, and bring the fun back to music.
Swinging between party hip hop, funk, reggae, rock, nu-breaks, swing, big beat, calypso, 80s and the odd cheesey number, they use scratching and turntablism as their mixing techniques. This versatile style allows them to appeal to any crowd they happen to be in front of. Basically, they have all the ingredients to get a dancefloor looking lively.
